Simon mERCER - PROFILE
Simon is a former Property Director with 30 years’ experience in large scale property consultancy firms and MNC’s throughout the Asia Pacific Region. In a post covid era Simon identified the need for clients to have flexibility with resources and associated costs whilst retaining access to valuable and experienced knowledge and support. The opportunity presenting led Simon to create his own independent consultancy WMP offering just that.
Simon obtained a BSc in Construction Management from R.M.I.T in Melbourne and spent the early part of his career in the Australian building industry working on large scale residential and commercial office projects. Age 29 Simon relocated to Asia and worked in multiple client-side Project Management roles for major clients such as Credit Suisse, Macquarie, and Exxon Mobil gaining valuable knowledge of processed fit out project execution as well as Asian business culture.
His focus on interior design and fit out led him into Retail Programme Management working with major brands such as Levi’s, adidas, Body shop, Prada and Swarovski. He has managed the roll out of over 1000 new and re-branded outlets throughout Asia further enhancing his knowledge of the region and building an extensive network.
In 2013 Simon joined Evolution Wellness Holdings one of Asia’s largest holding companies of health and wellness brands. His early appointment as Projects Director was to manage an aggressive capex expansion pipeline throughout Asia which then culminated in his Appointment as the Property Director in 2016 overseeing the entire department including Facilities Management.
Simon’s approach to client relationships is through pure integrity. He is a strong communicator and likes to adhere to uncomplicated but structured process and protocols. He is a strategic thinker with extensive experience in the corporate real estate, retail, and wellness sectors. As an ICF ACC accredited coach he is a people’s person who can motivate teams across a wide multicultural spectrum and has a proven track record of delivery in Asia, as well as a wide-reaching professional network to support.
